On his part, the staff representative Mr. Samuel MUKETE EYUM thanked the administration of NASLA for making the celebration possible, and announced the body’s Plan of Action is ready for submission. The outlined Plan of Action, according to Mr. MUKETE, incorporates among other things:
- The putting in place of a Health Safety Committee, and a Staff Mutual Fund;
- The operationalization of a Staff Policy, to serve as Internal Rules and Regulations;
- The implementation of a culture of respect for hierarchy and punctuality at work;
- Payment of salaries; and,
- Creation of a budget line for sick and deceased staff, in accordance with the Labour Code.
The rest of the day was punctuated with merry making, eating and dancing. It was an opportunity for the workers to indulge in team building and relax out of the office.
